Puliyogare Recipe With Step by step Photo Recipes.Puliyogare Rice is South indian aunthentic and traditioal rice based recipe.Puliyogare is made with tamarind pulp and dry Spices.If Tamarind Pulp is made once it can be used several times.

 

 

If you have a left over rice you can make Puliyogare Recipe.

 

Tamarind Rice is my Amma’s Favourite Recipe and mine too.She used to make Puliyodharai a night before and allow it to soak for Overnight.So that it tastes better next Morning.

 
Puliyogare goes well with Brinjal Thokku or Potato Poriyal.
 

You can  make Puliyogare Paste in bulk and store it in refrigerator for about 1 week.This can be a lunch box recipe too if paste is available in refrigerator.

Tamarind Pulp-2 Amla Size
Peanuts-1 handful
Garlic-10 to 12 Cloves
Coriander Seeds-1 tsp
Cumin Seeds-3/4 tsp
Fenugreek Seeds-1/4 tsp
Red Chilies-4
Curry Leaves-1 Sprig
Oil-1/3 cup
Mustard Seeds,Urad dal-1 tsp 
Cooked Rice
Salt as needed
 
Pre Preparation:

 
Wash and soak the Tamarind in a bowl with 1 1/2 cup Water and squeeze pulp.
 

Step by Step Photo Recipe:

 
1.In a kadai add Coriander Seeds,Cumin Seeds,Red Chilies and Fenugreek Seeds.
 

 

2.Saute in low Flame till it turns golden brown.
 
 

3.Transfer to a blender and blend into powder.

 

 

 

4.In same kadai add Oil.

 
 

5.Once the oil is hot add Mustard Seeds and Urad dal.

 

6.After it splutters add Garlic Cloves and Peanuts and saute till it turns golden brown.

 
 
7.Now add Tamarind Pulp and add 2 Cups Water.
 
 

8.Once it starts to Boil add blended masala powder and Curry Leaves.

 

 

 
 

9.Boil till Oil gets separated and gravy becomes thick.

 
 

10.Add Boiled Rice in a mixing bowl and add Tamarind Paste and Salt and mix.
