Urulaikizhangu Varuval Recipe/How to make Potato Fry Recipe

 
 
Potatoes,Love for Potatoes never ends.Potatoes can be cooked in many variations namely Sabzi,Chips,Poriyal,Kootu,Snack Recipes and Gravy.
 
Potatoes the one vegetable which is liked by 90% of population all over the world.
 
Here i shared the recipe of potato Poriyal/Varuval made with Chili Powder.This recipe can be done by adding Pepper Powder also.
 
This recipe goes well with Rasam Rice,Sambar Rice and Curd Rice.
 
Potato Varuval is made with Chopped Potatoes,Ginger Garlic Paste and Chili Powder.Checkout the Step by Step Recipe Photos and make a try.

Ingredients:


Potato-4 Medium Sized Chopped
Chili Powder-3/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp 
Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
Oil-2tsp
Mustard Seeds-1/2 tsp
Urad dal-1/2 tsp
Chana dal-1/2 tsp
Salt as needed

Method:

Chop the Potatoes finely and soak in water.
 
Heat a kadai and add Oil.
 
Once the Oil is hot add Chana dal,Urad dal,Mustard Seeds and Asafoetida.
 
Once splutters add Potatoes and Salt and Cook in Medium Flame.Once Potatoes are half Cooked add Chili Powder and mix.
 
stir occassionaly and switch off once ready.
 
If required garnish with  Curry Leaves and Coriander Leaves.

3.Once it splutters add Potatoes and needed Salt.
 
 

4.Once the Potato is half cooked add Chilli Powder and Cook till  it gets ready.
 
 
 

Notes:

 

  • More Chili Powder can be added more.
  • If need add Curry Leaves and Coriander Leaves.
