Rava Dosa Recipe with step by step photo recipe.Rava dosa is a quick and popular variant of dosa from the south Indian cuisine.These are crispy dosas.This dosa is made with Rava,All purpose flour and rice flour.These are easy to make and require no grinding,no fermentation,unlike other traditional dosa recipe.This can be taken as breakfast or dinner.This recipe goes well with Sambar and coconut chutneys.
 
A thin batter is made with sooji/semolina,rice flour,maida and water.You can also use butter milk instead of water.The batter is spiced with onion,green chilies and some spices and coriander leaves and curry leaves.
 
To make a perfect crisp instant rava dosa which has netted texture,the batter should be thin.so make sure the batter is thin and easy to pour.checkout the recipe and make a try.

Ingredients:

Rava/Sooji-1/2  Cup
Rice Flour-1/2 Cup
All Purpose Flour/Maida-1/4 Cup
Wtaer-2 1/2 Cup
Onion-1 Finely Chopped
Cumin Seeds-1/2 tsp
Ginger-1/2 inch Finely Chopped
Peppercorns-1/2 tsp 
Green Chilies-2 Finely Chopped
Curry Leaves-2 Sprig Finely Chopped
Coriander Leves-2 tsp Finely Chopped
Salt as needed

 

Step by Step Photo Recipe:

 
1.Add Rava,Rice Flour and Maida in a Bowl.

 

 

2.Add Chopped Onion,Green Chilies,Curry Leaves and Coriander Leaves.
3.Now add in Pepper corns,Cumin Seeds and required Salt.

 

4.Further add in 2 1/2 Cups of Water and Mix well.
 

 

5.Rest the batter for 30 mins.
 

 

6.Heat a pan and pour the batter in high flame.
 

 

 

7.Now lower the flame and allow till it turns golden brown.


 

8.Once ready fold the dosa and Serve with Coconut Chutney or Tomato Chutney and Sambar.

 

 

Notes:

  • Add enough water for Crispy dosa.
  • You can also add buttermilk by reducing water or use 1 tsp Curd while mixing batter.
