
In this Post,I have shared the recipe of idli sambar.This sambar is prepared with mixed lentils namely Moong dal and Toor dal. Carrot and Pumpkin is used in this sambar.Pumpkin gives a special flavour to this sambar.Make sure to use Pumpkin.This Sambar can be served with Pongal,Idli and Dosa.

Ingredients
For Sambar
Moong dal-1/4 cup
Toor dal-1/4 cup
Onion-1 medium sized
Tomato-2 Medium Sized
Chili powder-1 tsp
Sambar powder-1/2 tsp(optional)
Carrot,Pumpkin-1/2 cup chopped
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Coriander leaves-2 tbsp chopped
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
oil-1 tbsp
Mustard seeds,urad dal-1 tsp
For idli batter
Rice-4 cups
Urad dal-1 Cup
methi seeds-1/2 tsp
Serving Mini Idlies
Onion-1 chopped finely
Coriander leaves-2 tbsp chopped finely
Ghee-1 tbsp
Step by Step Photo Recipe
1.Add the washed Moong dal and Toor dal in Pressure Cooker.

2.Add Turmeric powder and water.

3.Pressure cook till it becomes soft.

4.Heat a kadai and add oil.

5.Add Mustard Seeds and urad dal.

6.Once it splutters add Onion and tomato.

7.Add Curry leaves.

8.Once onion and tomato becomes soft add veggies.

9.Then add Chili Powder,Sambar powder and Salt.

10.saute for 2 mins and add 2 cups water.

11.Once the vegetables are cooked,add Cooked dal in kadai.

12.Mix once and allow it to boil.

13.Add Coconut in a blender.

14.Then add water and blend Smoothly.

15.Add the Coconut Paste.

16.Boil for 5mins.

17.Finally add coriander leaves and switch off.

- Add the Coconut Paste.
- Boil for 5mins.
- Finally add coriander leaves and switch off.
Notes
- Adjust Chili powder.
Preparing Batter
Soak 4 cups Rice and 1 cup urad dal with methi seeds for 3 hrs.
Add soaked urad dal in a blender and blend Smoothly.
Blend till it becomes soft.
Once ready,add soaked rice in blender and blend Smoothly.
Now mix both the urad dal and rice batter by adding Salt.
Allow it to ferment overnight.
Now batter is ready to prepare idli or dosa.
Making Mini Idlies
1.Add water in a idli Pot and switch on the stove.

2.Meanwhile brush the idli plate with oil.

3.pour the batter in idli plate.

4.Arrange the plates.
5.place the idli plate in idli maker.

6.steam for 10mins.

7.check with the spoon.

8.Idlies are ready to serve.

Preaparing Sambar idli
1.Place the idlies in a bowl.

2.Pour Sambar generously.

3.Garnish with chopped Onions,Coriander leaves.

4.Finally add ghee and serve.
