Poha is a indian breakfast recipe made with flatten Rice,Peanuts,and Spices.Poha is a flattened rice that is steamed and sauted with Onions,Spices and peanuts.
 
Poha is a healthy breakfast recipe and is made in different versions.This is a simple on the go breakfast and healthy too.This can be taken as a snack too.
 
Here are some of the tips for poha recipe.


Choosing Ingredients:

Poha:Make sure to pick good flatten quality poha.Thoroughly rinse poha 3 to 4 times.Do not soak Poha for more than 5 minutes.drain the water completely.Before start preparing poha makee sure poha is soft enough.
 

Ingredients:

 
Poha-1 Cup
Green Peas-1/3 Cup
Lemon Juice-1 small Size
Onion-1 Finely Chopped
Green Chili-2 chopped
Garlic Cloves-5 to 7 Crushed
Curry Leaves-1 tsp
Coriander Leaves-2 tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
Oil-2 tsp
Mustard Seeds,Urad dal and Channa dal-1 tsp
Salt as needed
 
 

Method:

In a Pressure cooker add green peas with water and cook till it becomes soft and once cooked strain and keep aside.
 
Wash and Soak the Poha in water for 5 minutes.Check the softness of Poha in between.If you feel poha is soft immediately strain and keep aside.(do not oversoak)
 
In a Kadai add Oil.Once it is hot,add Mustard Seeds,Urad dal and Chana and allow it to Splutter.
 
Now add Onion,Green chilies,Curry leaves,Turmeric Powder and Coriander Leaves and saute till onion becomes soft.
 
Add Lemon Juice and switch off in 30 secs.
 
Now add Cooked Poha,Green Peas and Salt and Mix.
 
Serve hot.
 
 
 

Pre Preparation:

 
1.Add Green Peas in a Pressure Cooker with 2 Cups Water and Pressure Cook till it becomes Soft.
 

 

2.Once the Pressure is released Strain and Keep aside.
 
3.Wash and Soak the Poha in Water for 5 Mins and Strain and Keep aside.

 

 

 

 
 

Step by Step Photo Recipe:

 
1.Heat a Kadai/Pan and add 2 tsp Oil.

 

2.Once the Oil is hot add Mustard Seeds,Urad dal and Channa dal.
3.Once its splutters add crushed Garlic and Saute till aroma comes.
4.Now add Onions,Green Chilies,Curry Leaves and Coriander Leaves and Cook till it becomes soft.
6.Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder.
7.Now Simmer the Stove and  add Lemon Juice and Switch off the flame after 30 Secs.
8.Add the Poha and Green Peas.
9.Further add the needed Salt and Mix gently.

 

Notes:

  • You can also Use Peanuts instead of Green Peas.
  • Dry roast Peanuts and add to Poha.
